The Annual Ninth District Spring Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, April 18th
Louisville - Spring is here and District 9 is ready to shake off the cold of winter and embrace warmer temperatures and sunny days as Councilman Bill Hollander puts out the call for volunteers to help clean up the district.
“Like many people, I am ready for spring and with spring comes a little spring cleaning,” says Hollander. “On Saturday April 18th, our volunteers will join hundreds of others all over Louisville Metro by picking up trash and clearing away winter debris.”
The Annual Ninth District Spring Cleanup will run from 8:30am until 12:00pm Noon. It is held in conjunction with two events: the Annual Brightside Spring Cleanup and the Mayor’s Give – A – Day of Service.
Bags, gloves, and tools will be provided for volunteers who want to spend the day with neighbors doing cleanup work. T-shirts are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
“The Ninth District has always had strong participation in this community wide event and I will be looking forward to working with all volunteers,” says Hollander.
Volunteers will gather at the Keats and Frankfort Avenue public parking Lot at 8:30 am where coffee, donated by Heine Brothers’ Coffee, and breakfast sandwiches, donated by the Clifton’s McDonalds, will be provided. Then at 9:00am volunteers will be sent out to start the cleanup. Volunteers will be encouraged to cleanup any area on Frankfort Avenue or in the District.
