Councilwoman Barbara Sexton Smith (D-4) and the City of Louisville will honor Percy Miller, who is better known as “Master P” by designating Tuesday, July 17th as “Master P Day” in Metro Louisville.

Mayor Greg Fischer, North Lime Coffee & Donuts owner Joe Ross and representatives of Edison Center owner Weyland Ventures this morning celebrated the arrival of the North Lime Coffee & Donuts brand in Old Louisville. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the North Lime location, 1228 S. Seventh St., in front of the Edison Center.

On July 19, Louisville Metro Government Departments of Develop Louisville & Public Works will host a public open house from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Kentucky Museum of Art & Craft (715 West Main Street) to discuss the planned River Road extension west to 15th Street. The extension will span from 7th Street to 15th Street, in conjunction with Waterfront Park Phase IV expansion.

Jul 13 2018 Public Health and Wellness Offers Free Classes to Help Smokers Quit

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 13, 2018) – The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness and its community partners are offering free stop smoking classes using the American Lung Association's Freedom From Smoking® (FFS) program.  The 8-session program includes weekly support group meetings combined with the use of nicotine replacement products such as patches and gum.  Participants receive free supplies of nicotine replacement products.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today awarded $3.4 million to prevent and end homelessness among young people in Louisville, Kentucky. HUD’s Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP), supports a wide range of housing interventions including rapid rehousing, permanent supportive housing, transitional housing, and host homes.

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue an operating permit to Ford Motor Company – Louisville Assembly Plant (manufacture of automobiles), 2000 Fern Valley Road, in accordance with Regulation 2.16. The 30-day public comment period starts on July 14, 2018, and ends on August 13, 2018. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.
