“The Amazing Spiderman 2” is July’s Movie Under the Stars at the Iroquois Amphitheater

Louisville – Peter Parker continues his crime fighting crusade as America’s favorite web slinger when “The Amazing Spiderman 2” comes to the Iroquois Amphitheater on Saturday, July 11th as the next Movie Under the Stars.

“The Free Summer Movies continue to be a great attraction for the Amphitheater and many people are learning this facility is a great way to spend a summer evening with friends and family,” says Councilwoman Marianne Butler (D-15).

The 2014 film finds Spiderman facing a new foe Electro, who threatens to drain the power from New York City and at the same time, must deal with new problems coming from an old friend. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Campbell Scott, Embeth Davidtz, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field.

“The 2015 season is really breaking records in attendance, and Movies Under the Stars is a big part of that. People really appreciate the wider options for food and drink we’re offering this year, as well as the chances to win free tickets and other prizes before the event” says Mike Slaton of the Iroquois Amphitheater.

Joining Butler as sponsors this year are Council members Rick Blackwell (D-12) Vicki Aubrey Welch (D-13), Dan Johnson (D-21) David Yates (D-25), Mary C. Woolridge (D-3), David James (D-6), Cindi Fowler (D- 14), Tom Owen (D-8) and Cheri Bryant Hamilton (D-5), the Citizens of Metro Council District 7, Steve Magre (D-10), Barbara Shanklin (D-2), David Tandy (D-4) and the Citizens of Metro Council District 9.
In August, the 2015 “Movies Under the Stars” will wrap up with the movie Planes: Fire and Rescue.

July 20 - Arsenic and Old Lace
July 27 – Close Encounters of the Third Kind
