Job/ Empowerment Expo
(Sponsorship opportunities still available)
Sunday, September 3, 2017
1:00 – 7:00pm
West Lawn between the Kentucky Center and the Main Stage
The Job/Empoerment Expo is a new component that is being led by the Office for Globalization. This job fair will take place on Sunday, September 3, from 1pm to 7pm, offering hiring managers the opportunity to meet thousands of members of the immigrant community to discuss and provide information about open positions at their company.
Louisville’s economy is growing, but with this growth comes challenges. Local employers are finding it difficult to fill the thousands of open jobs in our community. KentuckianaWorks estimates that there are 29,000 open positions in our region. Projections show that that demand will increase through the year 2024.
Foreign-born students and residents represent a great source of talent for local businesses. Currently there are 52,000 immigrants in Louisville and nearly 80,000 in the region with the ability to fill entry level and professional jobs. With your support of the WorldFest Job Expo, thousands of immigrant job seekers can connect with employers in our area – a true win for our community!
The WorldFest Job Expo will be promoted through traditional media and local outlets that target immigrant communities. In addition to gaining access to a large number of candidates in a one-stop environment, this new component of WorldFest will enable partnering organizations to learn more about this workforce pool, promote their company and introduce themselves as a desirable place to work.
