Grinstead Drive

In 2013 the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) completed a roadway reconfiguration on Grinstead Ave. The project saw the strip of road reduced from four lanes to a single lane in either direction with a central turn lane and curb buffers. The result was a considerable drop in the number of collisions occurring along the corridor. Roadway reconfigurations are one of many engineering solutions proven to reduce crashes, calm traffic, and save lives.

Moving forward, Louisville Metro Public Works Division of Transportation and KYTC are working together to make data driven decisions regarding potential corridors to implement similar traffic calming measures so that all roadway users can arrive safely at their destination.
