Urban Forestry is a branch of Louisville Parks and Recreation.
Pillars of Work:
- Enforcing Louisville Metro's Tree Ordinance to ensure a sustainable and green future in Louisville.
- Overseeing tree maintenance of street and park trees, including permitting to plant, prune and remove trees in the public right of way of Metro maintained roads.
- Leading the community in tree best management standards through education, engagement and tree planting.
- Working unilaterally with other city agencies and urban forestry stakeholders to ensure the health and vitality of Louisville’s urban forest.
