Green Fleet Challenge

Electric vehicle

Electric vehicles (EVs) result in substantial fuel reductions and improve air quality. As Louisville Metro transitions to a 100% EV fleet, we invite local businesses, companies, and nonprofit organizations to join us in our efforts through the Green Fleet Challenge. To participate, we ask that businesses and organizations:

  1. Commit to investing in battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) to match Louisville Metro Government fleet’s at least one-to-one. (Arrangements can be made on a case-by-case basis for an equitable ratio with smaller organizations and businesses.)

  2. Participate in outreach and engagement activities that promote the use of EVs.

  3. Provide information about the business’ overall vision to invest in a sustainable future.

In joining the Green Fleet Challenge, your business or organization will:

  • Help the Louisville community transition to clean vehicles.

  • Improve awareness of the availability of EVs and charging infrastructure.

  • Receive recognition for your efforts in city-wide announcements, social media, and events.

  • Improve air quality and health for all Louisville residents!
