Although, Louisville is ranked as a relatively safe city based on its rating on the FBI’s violent crime city comparison listing, violence prevention remains a top priority. In the last five years, Louisville has experienced approximately 280 homicides, 1,089 gunshot injuries and 10,521 aggravated assaults as reported by the LMPD Crime Data Center. We focus on reducing violence by increasing positive opportunities and centering attention on specific areas of engagement. One death…one shooting…one assault…is too many!
