Emergency Food Assistance through the Neighborhood Place:

Dare to Care Food Bank and Neighborhood Place have partnered to provide an immediate food source to clients who are receiving Neighborhood Place services who express a crisis situation for food. This assistance is designed to sustain the client long enough to get to a regular Dare to Care Food Bank resource. Although Neighborhood Place is not able to distribute food to the same household on a regular basis, individuals in need are encouraged to utilize regular Dare to Care Food Bank resources. Information is available at 966-3821, Monday-Friday, 8am-3pm.

Individuals receiving emergency food from Neighborhood Place must:
1. Be present in the Neighborhood Place and receiving a primary service
2. Be in a food crisis situation as determined by a case manager

3. The amount of food clients receive is determined by their case manager and mitigated by the amount of food available at that Neighborhood Place site
4. Food is distributed directly to the client by their case manager
5. The case manager must include a written indication of the items distributed in the client’s file
6. Food may be distributed to a household only one time. After the initial food distribution, the client must visit other community resources, Dare to Care Food Bank locations, or the Newburg Community Center.

This project is funded by the Dare to Care Food Bank and also supported, in part, with funds from the Community Services Block Grant Act of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under a contract with the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
