At the present time, Louisville Metro Archives does not have the staff to conduct genealogical research for our patrons. However, our library/research room is open to the public Monday thru Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm (with the exception of all major holidays) and you are invited to visit during those times.
If a visit to our facility is impossible, we will be happy to copy available record/s for you as long as you request a specific document and can supply complete information regarding the document/record you seek.
The fully completed GENEALOGICAL REQUEST FORM should be mailed to the attention of:
Genealogical Record Request
Louisville Metro Archives
635 Industry Road
Louisville, KY 40208
If we are able to locate the record/s you seek, we will contact you with the number of pages available and the cost for copying/reproducing the pages.
If you choose to have the pages copied, you will be asked to return the form we provide with the location information and a check or money order in the amount needed to cover the cost of copying as well as a stamped self-addressed envelope.
Please note: Incomplete forms will be returned. Only one request per form will be fulfilled. Please allow up to six weeks for a response.
