The Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) discretionary grant program provides an unique opportunity to invest in road, rail, transit, and port projects that promise to achieve national objectives. Congress has dedicated nearly $14.3 billion for fifteen rounds of National Infrastructure Investments to fund projects that have a significant local or regional impact. Grant Application Documents
In February 2024, Louisville Metro Public Works applied for RAISE Implementation Grant to fund the construction phase of I-65 Southbound (SB) Ramp to Brook & Jefferson Street Roadway Configuration Safety Project. This project will: better accommodate the flow of traffic and improve safety on the I-65 SB Ramp to Brook & Jefferson Streets and improve the related traffic flow along Brook, Jefferson, Produce Plaza, 1st Street, Liberty and Chestnut Streets. By configuring one of the most confusing intersections in Louisville, this project will better support the urban fabric and neighborhoods around it. This project will make this intersection easier to traverse for all modes of transportation, thereby improving accessibility, economic competitiveness, sustainability, and contributing to improved public health outcomes. This project will also reduce the exposure travelers have to various conflict points, which will improve safety for travelers using various modes of transportation.

RAISE Grant awards are anticipated to be announced by July 2024.
