Equity in Contracting and Procurement Task Force

Task Force Executive Order Signing

On September 9, 2020, Mayor Greg Fischer issued Executive Order No. 2020-013 creating the Equity in Contracting and Procurement Task Force (Task Force) in order to begin addressing the “tremendous gaps” that exist in Louisville’s Black-owned and Diverse-owned businesses. The Task Force was created to ensure that the Louisville Metro community’s anticipated expenditure of approximately $5 billion in public and private capital infrastructure investments over the next five years is also fairly and equitably distributed among Black-owned and Diverse businesses. In doing so, the Task Force will encourage our largest private and public infrastructure investors to increase the amount of infrastructure dollars being invested in Black-owned and Diverse-owned businesses, known as MFDBEs.

MFDBEs consist of Minority-, Female-, Disabled-, and LGBT-business enterprises as defined in the Louisville Metro Code of Ordinance 37.66.
