Equity in Contracting and Procurement Task Force

Task Force Executive Order Signing

On September 9, 2020, Mayor Greg Fischer issued Executive Order No. 2020-013 creating the Equity in Contracting and Procurement Task Force (Task Force) in order to begin addressing the “tremendous gaps” that exist in Louisville’s Black-owned and Diverse-owned businesses. The Task Force was created to ensure that the Louisville Metro community’s anticipated expenditure of approximately $5 billion in public and private capital infrastructure investments over the next five years is also fairly and equitably distributed among Black-owned and Diverse businesses. In doing so, the Task Force will encourage our largest private and public infrastructure investors to increase the amount of infrastructure dollars being invested in Black-owned and Diverse-owned businesses, known as MFDBEs. MFDBEs consist of Minority-, Female-, Disabled-, and LGBT-business enterprises as defined in the Louisville Metro Code of Ordinance 37.66. click here to read Mayor Fisher's Executive Order establishing the task force.

The Task Force will be hosting its Inaugural Matchmaker event on September 14 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Louisville Central Community Center, to further engage Black-owned and other Diverse-owned businesses. Click here to register today!
