Pandemic Relief for Households and Individuals

Neighborhood Place

As our community navigates the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Neighborhood Place is a resource for those who have been economically impacted. In 2020, we provided more than $10 million in rent assistance to over 4,000 Louisville households through the CARES Eviction Prevention Program.


RENT ASSISTANCE - As of June 1st, all appointments are reserved. Additional appointments may become available depending on funding. Check back June 28th for updates.

The Rent Assistance Program is funded by the U.S. Treasury. To be eligible for this program, you must reside in Jefferson County, suffer financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic, be at risk for homelessness or housing instability, and have household income at or below 80% area median income. Renters receiving a subsidy are eligible for assistance with their portion.

To apply, schedule an appointment either by clicking the button above or call the automated scheduler at 502-308-3344.  The appointment is to submit the application and documents to the drop box.

All documents need to be submitted together. Required documentation for this program:

  1. Application Form;
  2. Landlord/Tenant Agreement, signed and completed by both parties 
  3. Photo IDs for all adults in household;
  4.  Social security number for all members of the household (or proof of age if under 2);
  5. Copy of current lease; OR complete the Rental Agreement (pg 3 of the Landlord/Tenant Agreement);
  6. Past-due rent notice, if owed.

Additional documents may be requested if required on a case-by-case basis

You have the option to submit your application online instead of going to the Neighborhood Place drop box. Applications sent without a scheduled appointment will not be processed.

Metro Council funded Utility Assistance for households impacted by COVID is available through the Area Community Ministries. Go to louisvilleministries.org/lge-assistance

LIHEAP, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, is administered through the city's Office of Resilience and Community Services. Check here for eligibility and how to apply.
