2024 Metro Council Standing Committees

The Metro Council Committee meetings are an essential component of the local legislative process. These committees play a crucial role in the lawmaking process by thoroughly examining proposed legislation, conducting hearings, and reviewing government agency activities within their designated area of responsibility.

The committee structure can change annually, based on the will of the current Metro Council President.

This year, Council President Markus Winkler (D-17) is responsible for naming of committees and appointment of the Chairs, except for the Committee on Committees.

The 2024 Metro Council Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs are available online here

All committee meetings are open to the public and will be held in Metro Council Chambers, in historic City Hall, 601 West Jefferson Street.
