  • Sunday, November 19: Just Creations, 2722 Frankfort Avenue, to host Llamarama from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Llamarama is a special holiday shopping event for kids 13 years old and younger. Take advantage of shopping elf assistants, gift wrapping and pictures with Santa. Questions, please contact the store at 897-7319.
  • Thursday, November 23 & Friday, November 24: Thanksgiving Holiday - all Metro offices are closed. All collections (garbage, yard waste and recyclables) are delayed.

  • Friday, November 24: 37th Annual Light Up Louisville at Fourth and Jefferson Streets in downtown Louisville. Events begin at Noon. For more information visit, https://louisvilleky.gov/government/city-events/light-louisville. 
  • Friday, November 24: Frankfort Avenue will host a special Holiday Hop on Black Friday. Trolleys will run extended hours from 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. to encourage hoppers to spend the day eating, drinking and shopping along the Avenue. Free trolleys will run along Frankfort Avenue from Cannons Lane to River Road, and many businesses will host music, refreshments and special sales. For more information, visit www.fatfridayhop.com.

  • Saturday, November 25: Shop Small Saturday along Frankfort Avenue from 11:00 a.m. - midnight.

  • Saturday, December 2: 22nd Annual Santa Sprint and Stroll. Join community members for a 5K (3.1 miles) race along historic Frankfort Avenue to benefit the vital community programs at UCHM.  Details and registration information can be found online at www.uchmlouky.org. For more information, contact Mark Howell at mhowell@uchmlouky.org or 502-893-0346.
  • Saturday, December 2: St. Mark's Annual Christmas Bazaar at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 2822 Frankfort Avenue. The event runs from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Enjoy a white elephant and book sale, golden treasure gifts, vendor booths, handmade crafts, silent auction, bake sale, pictures with Santa and food. 
  • Saturday, December 2: Light Up St. Matthews from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Browns Park, 1000 Browns Lane. Enjoy cookies and hot chocolate, a live DJ, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Clause, activities for the kids, and fun for the entire family. At 6 p.m. the event concludes with Santa turning on the lights throughout the park.
  • Sunday, December 10: Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center and Campy Quality are hosting a Christmas toy drive now through December 10. Camp Quality works with children who are fighting cancer. To participate in this year, please purchase a toy worth $15-$20 for a boy or girl and drop it off at the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center, 201 Reservoir Avenue by December 10.
