About Casssie Chambers Armstrong
Cassie Chambers Armstrong was elected in November 2020 and took office in January 2021. She is a member of the Metro Council’s Budget Committee and Equity & Inclusion Committee. She vice chairs the Committee on Community Affairs, Health, Education, and Housing, and she co-chairs the bipartisan Women's Caucus.
She represents the neighborhoods of Belknap, Bonnycastle, Bowman, Cherokee Seneca, Cherokee Triangle, Deer Park, Gardiner Lane, Hawthorne, Hayfield Dundee, Highlands, Highlands Douglass and Tyler Park; and parts of Bon Air, Cherokee Gardens, Germantown and Irish Hill. She also represents the home rule cities of Kingsley, Seneca Gardens, Strathmoor Manor and Strathmoor Village.
A lawyer by training and began her career at the Louisville Legal Aid Society. She has a JD from Harvard Law School, a MPH from the Yale School of Public Health, and a MSc from the London School of Economics.
She lives in the Highlands with her husband and their two sons. You can find her most days walking in Cherokee Park and grabbing a coffee on Bardstown Road. She is committed to making District 8 a clean, green, walkable, vibrant place for families to live and thrive.
