About Khalil Batshon

Khalil “Charlie” Batshon was elected to serve the people of Louisville Metro’s 25th Council District in November 2022.  Growing up in the South End, Khalil has immense pride in his community, and is focused on bringing government closer to the people by bringing his dedication to customer service and commitment to improving the South End to local government. Khalil and his wife Tabatha, along with his three sons, live in the Prairie Village neighborhood and are active members of their community.

A self-started small business owner, Khalil has been in the restaurant business since 2007 and has operated the well-known Dixie Highway and Valley Station staple, Khalil’s Restaurant, Bar and Catering in Southwest Jefferson County since 2012. In addition to helping create jobs, Khalil has been involved in organizations such as the  Southwest Community Ministries, Riverside Farnsley Moreman, Shirley’s Way, Dixie Area Business Association (DABA), Riverport Business Association, Louisville Independent Business Alliance (LIBA) Kentucky Restaurant Association and Business Network International as well as volunteering as a baseball coach and relief organizer for a variety of efforts to support law enforcement, flood victims and others faced with personal and community hardships.

Khalil is a graduate of Jefferson County Public Schools (Pleasure Ridge Park High School) and is a member of Southeast Christian Church (Southwest Campus). As the representative for Metro Council District 25, Khalil serves all or portions of the following neighborhoods in South and Southwestern Jefferson County: Auburndale, Candlelight, Cardinal Hill Estates, Cardinal Oaks, Estates of St. Anthony, Forest Hills, Garden of Eden, Iroquois Garden, Parkridge, Parkridge Woods, Prairie Village, Robin Hill Estates, Southland Park, St. Andrews Landing, St. Anthony Woods, Stone Hill, Valley Farms, Valley Station, Whipperwill, Willow Run, Windsor Forest, Windsor Trace, Woodland Hills, Woodridge Lake, Woods of Glen Hill Manor, Woods of St. Andrews.
