2015-2016 Approved Executive and Detail Budgets
(July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016)
Mayor Greg Fischer’s recommended Louisville Metro Government budget for Fiscal Year 2015-2016 was approved by Metro Council June 25, 2015 and went into effect July 1, 2015. The budget includes $557 million in General Fund spending and $903 million overall (which includes $224 million in Capital funding and Debt Service). The spending plan includes, road paving, sidewalk repair, bike lane expansion, and growth of the historic park system. Public safety funding includes on-officer camera roll-outs throughout Louisville, as well as a significant upgrade to the emergency radio system. Funds are included for construction of affordable housing, reaching 2020 health goals, and multiple education initiatives which are highlighted by a new South Central Regional Library, Kindergarten Boot Camps, support for the 55,000 Degrees initiative and youth programming at community centers.
