• 2016 – University of Louisville was one of 16 schools in the nation to earn five stars in the Campus Pride Index, the only public university in the South ranked among the “Best of the Best.” UofL also was ranked as one of the most LGBTQ-conscious campuses in the South in 2015.
• 2015 – Following landmark SCOTUS decision, Louisville is home to first, legal LGBTQ marriage in the state. The ceremony is officially witnessed by the city’s mayor.
•2014 – University of Louisville Medical School pilots the first resident training for targeted LGBTQ healthcare needs, and also becomes the first university in the country to offer a LGBTQ Studies minor.
•2013 – Louisville Metro Government extends benefits options to domestic partners of employees, one of the first in the South to do so.
