Red Trail

4.8 miles

Strenuous (4.8 miles) Hike the Red Trail following flat ridges until it traverses two valleys on the southwest side. A good diversity of plants, animals and geology can be discovered. Meet in the Horine Reservation area parking lot.

Yost Ridge Trail/Mitchell Hill Lake Trail 

3.2 miles

NIGHT HIKE!  Moderate (3.2 miles).  Meet at the Welcome Center to access the Yost Ridge connector trail on your way to Mitchell Hill lake and back.

Scott's Gap Trail 
3.3 miles
Strenuous (3.3 miles).  Hike the lovely Scott’s Gap area in search of wildflowers. Meet in the Scott’s Gap parking area.

Red Trail
2.4 miles

NIGHT HIKE!  Easy (2.4 miles). Hike briefly on the Red Trail, then on a gravel road. Visit the Horine family cemetery and hear their story. After, warm up around a fire and enjoy a s’more. Meet in the Horine Reservation area parking lot.

Yost Ridge Trail/Coral Ridge Loop Trail 

4.3 miles

Moderate (4.3 miles).This hike will gradually ascend from the parking area to the upland knobs with spectacular views of Louisville to the north. Meet at the Welcome Center for access the Yost Ridge connector trail on your way to the Coral Ridge Loop in the Forest Paul Yost section.

Purple Heart Trail 

2.1 miles

Moderate (2.1 miles).  Purple Heart Trail. Begins with a steep ascent to the loop which follows a u-shaped ridgeline to a steep valley crossing.  Nice vistas exist along the western ridgeline and are especially nice in winter when leaves are absent. Meet in large parking area in the back of the Tom Wallace section.

 

NOTE: Due to weather or trail conditions the hiked trail is subject to change, but the meeting place will remain the same.
