To apply for a special event permit, use the Louisville Metro Business Portal and either log into your account or create a new account. After you've logged in click on the Licenses tab to obtain a special event permit. It is recommended that you read the Accela Application Guide to help you navigate the online application portal.
Welcome to the City of Louisville! Louisville Metro Government (LMG) and the Office of Special Events (OSE) are committed to providing local and visiting events with the highest quality of service and customer care. Hosting your event here means dedicated staff and resources are available to support and accommodate your needs.
The Office of Special Events, along with supporting Metro agencies, have re-evaluated our local Special Events program and made some much needed improvements. By doing so, you are now offered a product and service that ensures your event is affordable, efficient, and safe!
The Special Events Handbook is a tool to educate all event producers about Louisville Metro Government’s process for approving events, available resources, and its expectations for producing an event within the Louisville Metro area. Other documents are available below that will help you complete your application(s). It is recommended that you read the Accela Application Guide to help you navigate the online application portal. The OSE team values your input and welcomes all comments and suggestions for continuous improvement.
