Louisville Metro EMS Paramedic Program

The Louisville Metro EMS Paramedic Program prepares students for a career in EMS.  Students will be instructed in the most advanced medical practices available in the pre-hospital setting.  The program focuses on patient assessment and management of trauma and medical emergencies, advanced airway management, fluid initiation, resuscitation and pharmacological interventions.  Cardiac emergency management is strongly emphasized in the program.  During the program, students will learn to function as a team leader.  At the completion of the program, students will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to assess and manage patients presenting with life-threatening emergencies.

Louisville Metro EMS is currently holds a Letter of Review and is seeking initial accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Education Programs for Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).  This process is scheduled to be completed late 2019-early 2020.
