Religious Programs

Louisville Metro Department of Corrections ensures the constitutional rights of offenders to voluntarily practice their religious activities and access to religious resources subject to those limitations necessary to maintain the order and security of LMDC facilities.

The Departmental Chaplain is responsible for providing religious activities and developing community resources to meet the religious needs of all offenders.

LMDC currently has over 80 church volunteer groups associated with the department.

Inmates have the opportunity to practice their religion within limits necessary to maintain facility order and security. Group worship and study will be conducted in designated places and times.
