The GED Program is for those who want to use their time incarcerated to help their future, and turn it into a positive experience in their life.
LMDC provides offenders access to educational programs through a partnership with Jefferson County Adult Education as well as the opportunity to take the GED Test. All offenders are evaluated during orientation for suitability to participate in the GED program.
Upon placement into a GED class, instructional and resource material is readily available for the offender from the instructor. Additionally, LMDC provides incentive based education tablets to those housed in the designated GED housing unit.
The tablets are a supplemental resource to the “in class” instruction provided by teachers. Jefferson County Public Schools Adult Education Department administers the program.
