This year, more than 42,000 men and women will move through our facilities. They will interact with a well-trained staff committed to excellence. Inmates housed in Metro Corrections facilities have many program opportunities which include Work Release, Home Incarceration, Substance Abuse Counseling, Domestic Violence Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, GED Classes, Religious Programs and more.
Our goal is to assess an offender’s needs and provide services that assist that offender in the transition and reintegration back into the community.
Louisville Metro Department of Corrections headquarters is located at 400 S. Sixth St. Louisville, KY 40202. Our lobby is open to the public for information 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
All inmates have certain rights relative to the condition of confinement. These rights as per Kentucky administrative regulations and are addressed through access to courts attorney, mail, telephone, grievance procedures, search and seizure, disciplinary procedures, medical, mental healthcare, and religion.
