In order to erect a tent or temporary structure, the following is required ($125.00 application processing fee):
- Submission of a tent or temporary structure permit application
- Map of the site
Once the application and the supporting documents have been submitted and reviewed, the Department of Codes and Regulations will inspect all structures to ensure proper installation and safety regulations are in accordance with the Kentucky Building Code, including all electrical panels, connections, cooking and heating fuel (storage distributions).
Things to Consider in your Tent Application:
Be sure to show any seating or table configurations inside the tent. Seating in tents, canopies, and membrane structures should be demonstrated to provide adequate aisle-ways and egress in case of fire. Provide unobstructed Exit aisles with a minimum width of not less than 44 inches.
No combustible materials are allowed in the tents in include straw, hay wood chips etc.
No Smoking shall be permitted inside of tent.
Tent site placement installers to locate the utility lines before driving stakes.
Heating equipment shall not be located within 10 feet of exits or combustible materials.
Please note no fuel fire heaters are allowed inside.
