Fire Suppression Permits

The purpose of a fire suppression system permit is to ensure the system’s compliance with building and fire codes. A fire suppression permit is required for all work involving any fire protection system addition or modification. Permits are required any time that a fire suppression system is affected by any sort of work including repair. Please note that fire alarm systems require a separate permit and are not part of the fire suppression system permit.

The Fire Suppression Permit Application submission for a commercial kitchen Type I hood installation required the following additional information and documents.
  1. A Fire Suppression Contractor license with State of Kentucky and Louisville-Jefferson County Metro Government is required.
