The purpose of a fire detection system permit is to ensure the system’s compliance with building and fire codes.
A fire detection permit is required for all work involving any fire detection system addition or modification. Permits are required any time that a fire detection system is affected by any sort of work including repair. Please note that fire detection systems require a separate permit and are not part of the fire suppression system permit.
