The Department of Codes & Regulations works closely with the Code Enforcement Board to ensure the health and safety of all Louisville residents. Please review these resources that are intended to help keep properties up to code standards and keep residents in their homes. 

Home Repair Programs

OHCD Home Repair

The OHCD Home Repair programs are committed to providing repairs to help stabilize the home for low- to moderate-income individuals who own and are currently living in single-family homes. Households must be at or below 80% of the Area Median income. Contact the Office of Housing and Community Development at (502) 574-5850. 

Exterior Code Alleviation Program (ECAP)

ECAP is specifically designed to address exterior code violations issued against a property, as well as interior repairs that are related to the exterior code violation repairs. Participants in this program must be referred by Codes & Regulations. Households must be at or below 50% of the Area Median income. Once all code violations have been repaired, Codes & Regulations will drop all charges. Call (502) 574-5850 for more information.


Housing Stabilization

Louisville Metro Housing Stabilization

This program is designed to assist eligible households at risk of homelessness or housing instability. Call (502) 308-3344 to schedule an appointment.

Age-Friendly Louisville Housing Resources

Age-Friendly Louisville offers resources to those wishing to age in place. Visit their website at www.AgeFriendlyLou.com/Housing-Resources for more information. 

StopMyEviction.org

StopMyEviction.org is a one-stop site for eviction assistance information. They assist with preparing for court dates and other resources. Visit their website at www.StopMyEviction.org

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

LIHEAP assists eligible households facing a home heating emergency, such as imminent loss of heat, low fuel supply, or eviction due to unpaid utility bills. To apply for LIHEAP, residents meeting eligibility can call the automated scheduler at (502) 991-8391.


Other Community Resources

New Directions Repair Affair

Repair Affair provides free home repair for homeowners 60 and over, or with a verified disability, who own and live in their home and make less than 50% of the Area Median income. Call (502) 371-4906 for an application.

Coalition for the Homeless

The Coalition serves people experiencing homelessness. They provide housing, food, clothing, healthcare, legal services, and more to thousands of Louisvillians each year. Contact (502) 636-9550 for more information.

Community Ministries

Each area ministry offers services tailored for the unique and diverse community in which the ministry operates. Every ministry offers some form of an emergency financial assistance resource such as food pantry and produce, household supplies, community support, and more. There are 13 area community ministries covering all of Louisville Metro. Find your community ministry by visiting www.louisvilleministries.org.
