Information Technology Services has over 70 employees working in many areas of local government. Our department covers:
- IT Operations
Includes support for our datacenters, backup and recovery, infrastructure, routing/switching, telephone/VOIP operations, wireless networks, enterprise applications, security updates, video, remote access, and more.
- Business Systems
Enterprise systems that are used across Metro Government agencies, such as the city's award-winning website, PeopleSoft, Hansen, SharePoint, Oracle Financial System, and GIS.
- Client Services
Includes our helpdesk which takes over 30,000 calls and online requests per year, and our Service Level Managers who work directly with our department clients to offer technology solutions.
- IT Security
Responsible for the Louisville Metro Government information security program. Committed to protecting the information of citizens, city employees and affiliates.
- Metro Archives
The Louisville Metro Archives storage facility has the shelf capacity to store approximately 36,000 cubic feet of boxed paper records. Approximately 32,000 cubic feet are currently in storage along with over 5,000 bound volumes of original records (including wills, deeds, marriages bonds/licenses, etc), over 5,000 maps, blueprints and drawings and over 4,000 rolls of microfilm. MetroTV is our award-winning video department on cable TV, AT&T U-verse. Our services include recording Metro Council meetings and offering them online live and archived, offering live press conference video streaming on the city's website and producing videos for all departments of metro government. Technology Services is responsible for supporting the technology needs of the Revenue Commission, including all online tax payment services.
