Light Up Louisville

Mayor's Challenge Toys for Tots Toy Drive
Friday, December 3rd
6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
On Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, hundreds of Louisvillians stopped by Metro Hall to participate in the 2021 Mayor's Challenge Toys for Tots toy drive! They brought thousands of new, unwrapped presents for boys and girls across the Kentuckiana area. With the help from local Marines, we collected approximately 6,555 toys on this single day!
Louisvillians also stepped up to the challenge to gift older kids with age-appropriate presents this year! Our focus was on the great need for presents for 10 to 16 year old's and we saw a plethora of great gifts like basketballs, shaving kits, art supplies, and spa kits! Thank you to all who were able to bring a present this year, you are surely putting a smile on a young person's face this year.
Happy Holidays!
We would additionally like to congratulate our four Toys for Tots bicycle raffle winners! Thank you for your participation and we hope your child enjoys riding their new bicycle! This year we were able to give a new bicycle to a 4 year old boy, 7 year old girl, 8 year old boy, and 13 year old girl. Congratulations!

Hundreds of Louisvillians joined us at Jefferson Square Park the Friday after Thanksgiving for the 41st Light Up Louisville! Light Up, powered by LG&E, is a free, annual event that will have you and your loved ones in the holiday spirit! This year, along with the Lots of Lights parade, attendees enjoyed the Vendor Village with over a dozen local craft and food vendors, the AT&T Santa's Workshop where they took fun holiday photos, wrote a letter to Santa Claus & U.S. Veterans, and got to take home fun activities!
The popular Lots of Lights parade marched down Jefferson Street into the heart of Light Up Louisville as more than 50 units energized the crowd. Anticipation grew as we awaited the big moment and the arrival of the REAL Santa Claus! Mr. Claus, along with Mayor Fischer and other members of the community, counted down the seconds until they plugged in the giant plug and lit up Louisville! Thousands of lights and fireworks brightened the sky as families laughed, danced, and celebrated together in Downtown Louisville!

Thank you to our entertainment performers from Light Up 2021!
