Our Vision

A healthy Louisville where everyone and every community thrives.

Pregnant Workers Health Impact Assessment

The Kentucky Pregnant Workers’ Rights Act (KYPWRA) (SB18) ensures all pregnant workers have equal access to safe and healthy working conditions. The Pregnant Workers Health Impact Assessment reviewed available information on the health impacts of working while pregnant in order to inform lawmakers and the public about these important issues. Honoring worker requests for basic accommodations in the workplace will strengthen the health of pregnant workers, their developing child, and the health of Kentucky’s workforce. Healthy Louisville 2025:

Louisville's Community Health Improvement Plan

The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness is coordinating the development of Healthy Louisville 2025--an action plan for improving community health.

Healthy Louisville 2025

A Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) was conducted in 2015 among 3500 Jefferson County residents, with an additional 82 residents participating in focus groups. You can view the results online at www.healthylouisville2025.com

Based on the input gathered from an initial kickoff event (which was held September 2018), along with the data gathered during the focus groups, community health needs assessment survey, the Forces of Change event, and the Health Equity Report, three major focus areas have been established.

Healthy Louisville 2025 will focus on:

  • Access to Healthcare (access to timely services, navigating the health care system, transportation, etc.)
  • Socioeconomic Progress (Reliable employment, living wage jobs, paid sick leave)
  • Environmental Equity (safe housing, built environment, empowering self-advocacy, environmental justice)
