Early Childhood Development Root Cause Team
The Early Childhood Development (ECD) Root Cause Team works with the community to identify and change policies and practices to ensure families have access to safe and healthy places to live, work, learn, and play.
We are guided by overwhelming evidence showing that the environment and relationships children experience in their first few years have a major influence on the trajectory of their lives.
The first project for the ECD Root Cause Team employed a national, evidence-based tool to assess how well LMPHW maternal and child health services like WIC, Healthy Start and Cribs for Kids engaged fathers.
The ECD Root Cause Team collaborates with Jefferson County Public Schools on the Healthy Louisville 2025 Plan’s goal of Connecting Health to Education to advance equity in student health.
