Focus Area Teams
Anyone can join a Build Back Better, Together focus area team. Click on the icons below to find out more about the individual teams.
The teams are tasked with prioritizing equity issues that must be addressed before, during, and after any eventual recovery to address economic and health impacts of COVID-19 and dismantle systemic racism. And as actions and policies are being developed and recommended, the teams re-assess risks and re-evaluate vulnerabilities considering the swiftly changing circumstances of the economy, pandemic and calls for racial justice.
The teams are overseen by a steering committee of key leaders in government, business and nonprofit sectors, community and neighborhood representatives, and co-chairs of the focus area teams.
All participants will be trained on Louisville Metro Government’s Racial Equity Toolkit, which will be used to ensure that the steering committee’s and focus area teams' recommendations are focused on ensuring equitable outcomes, and to prevent the adoption of polices, strategies and systems that perpetuate racist, discriminatory or inequitable results and that fail to address the root causes of the economic and social injustice.
