Green Living Resources
Welcome to the One Bright City Green Living resource page. Brightside and the Office of Sustainability have partnered to develop this set of resources to guide residents' efforts to live more sustainably in Louisville, Kentucky. We hope you find the guidance useful, and we welcome your feedback on ways to improve its content.
The Green Living Toolkit offers ideas and simple steps residents can take to incorporate sustainable living choices into everyday life. For each criterion in the Green Living program, the Toolkit provides a definition, an explanation of the action's importance, a description of how to accomplish the task or activity, and where to find more resources. The Toolkit also provides ways to go beyond the criteria in the Green Living Program, listing additional ways to reduce energy consumption, waste and more.
The Green Living Program Criteria Definitions document defines each credit in the Green Living Program. All credits may not apply to every household in a neighborhood. In addition, the Green Living Program never requires participation from 100% of the households within a neighborhood to fulfill a credit.
Our Green Captains are the main liaisons to the neighborhoods and critical to sharing information about the program and garnering participation. To help with the outreach efforts we have compiled a list of ideas to help you get to know your neighbors and to make the data collection you need to do a bit easier!
Green Captains are encouraged to use this checklist to tally individual household participation. Click here to view an example of a completed Neighborhood Checklist.
