Gallopalooza
Gallopalooza began when John Conti, CEO of John Conti Coffee Co., visited Chicago. He noticed attention-grabbing, eccentrically decorated cow statues and knew the concept would be a big hit in Louisville. So in 2003, he sought the support of Metro Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson. Mayor Abramson believed the idea would be an ideal way to raise dollars for the city’s Brightside program. With such support, Gallopalooza: Louisville’s Sidewalk Derby took off out of the gate.
The Gallopalooza project ran in 2004, 2009, and most recently in 2015.
Brightside is proud to be a part of this fun display of public art in support of our clean, green, and sustainable programs and initiatives.
