Brightside desires to engage all citizens of Louisville to help make the city cleaner, greener, and more beautiful. Together, we can make a great environmental and economic impact.

There are several ways to partner with Brightside through our initiatives and programs to help keep Louisville clean and green. We organize two large-scale cleanups for our community during the year; one in the spring and one in the fall. We also coordinate with Metro Solid Waste Management Services for trash removal after groups have cleaned an area. Citizen groups can also take an active role in cleaning stretches of road with our Adopt A Mile program.

However, you don't have to wait for Brightside to announce the next Community-Wide Cleanup to do your part towards having a litter-free city. Any group wanting to have a Neighborhood Cleanup can be provided gloves, trash bags and a limited quantity of tools at no cost.

A clean program within the One Bright City initiative is the Brightside Community-Wide Cleanliness Index. The Brightside Index has been launched at 10 sites –approximately a half-mile corridor in length – within the 26 Metro Council districts, for a total of 260 sites community-wide. Click the map below to view the One Bright City Interative Map.

You can also view our community-wide advertising campaign called "Litter is Lame" that you can find on buses and bus shelters.
