License Your Pet
NOTE: You must have vaccinations and a license for your dog to go to a dog park.
If you apply for the license online, it takes several business days to get the paperwork back to you. If you want to get your license immediately, it is best to stop by the business office at the LMAS Animal Care Center, 3705 Manslick Road. Our hours are noon - 6 P.M. M-F.
There are four ways to license a dog, cat or ferret in Louisville
- License your pet online
- Download and mail-in your license
- License your pet at a participating vet
- Come into our business office, 3705 Manslick Rd. or our Adoptions Center, 3516 Newburg Rd. Bring your pet's rabies certificate.
What are the Benefits to Licensing Your Pet?
Being reunited with your pet is just a phone call away: 365 days a year, dispatchers are on duty to help with the process.
For those who find a lost licensed pet, it's your assurance that the pet has its updated rabies shots.
