Food Truck Clinic
Louisville Metro Government hosted weekly clinics from April to October 2023 to allow mobile food and beverage vendors to get inspects from the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness (LMPHW), Louisville Division of Fire and Jefferson County Fire Service, and Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) all at the same time. During those clinics, the city conducted inspections on more than 100 vendors, allowing them to legally sell food and drinks to the public.
Currently, more than 200 mobile food vendors operate in Jefferson County. Before they can legally set up shop, vendors are required to go through the proper building, permitting and licensing process. Failure to have the proper permits and licenses, required annually, can result in a misdemeanor, which can lead to a $500 fine and/or 30 days in jail.
