Cultural Pass

The 2017 Cultural Pass, presented by Churchill Downs and in partnership with Louisville Metro Government, Louisville Free Public Library (LFPL), Funds for the Arts and Arts and Culture Alliance, provides free access to many of Greater Louisville’s arts and cultural institutions for children, ages 0-21. Beanstack, an online registration system for both the Cultural Pass and Summer Reading will be used again this year. 2017 registration information is on the Library’s web site here. Cultural Passes will be available at all Louisville Free Public Library branches or Metro community center beginning May 22. Cultural Pass venues and offers will be listed soon. 
Important Dates
May 22: 2017 Cultural Pass Kickoff - passes available for pick up at all LFPL branches and Metro Louisville Community Centers.
June 1: Summer Reading program begins at all LFPL branches.
June 3: Summer Reading Kickoff and Cultural Pass Showcase featuring the Arts & Culture Alliance and the 2017 Cultural Pass presented by Churchill Downs, in partnership with Metro Louisville, Arts and Culture Alliance, Louisville Free Public Library and the Fund for the Arts

2017 Official Rules
Pass Valid:  June 3 – August 12, 2017
  • Participants must have or be eligible for a Louisville Free Public Library card.
  • Each youth (ages 0-21) is eligible for one pass.
  • The Cultural Pass is valid for one-time general admission at each of the participating institutions.
  • No special exhibits or concessions are included with the Cultural Pass.
  • Only one adult will receive free entry per visit when they accompany a youth under 16.
  • Only one adult will receive free entry per family regardless of the number of passes.
  • All rules and regulations for specific sites must be followed to gain entry.  Please note special restrictions for some participating organizations are printed on the Cultural Pass.
  • Organizations reserve the right to deny entry if rules and restrictions of the Cultural Pass are not followed.
  • The Cultural Pass is intended for family use.  As such, it is not valid for group visits. 
  • The Cultural Pass is not valid with other institution offers.
Children with 5 or more documented visits receive a Cultural Pass giveaway and are entered into a drawing to win additional prizes:
  • Free Sunday Night Hotel Stay at 21C
  • Two tickets to The Christmas Carol at Actors Theatre
  • Family Membership to Bernheim Forest, the Frazier History Museum, Gheens Science Hall and Planetarium, the Kentucky Science Center and the Speed Art Musem
  • Underground Railroad DVD’s from the Carnegie Center
  • Two “Golden Tickets” for any Commonwealth Theatre Mainstage Production
  • A cookie basket from the Girl Scouts
  • A family pass to Locust Grove’s 18th Century Market Fair in October

How do I get a Cultural Pass and sign up for the Summer Reading Program?
Visit any branch of the Louisville Free Public Library or Metro Louisville Community Center starting May 22 to get a Cultural Pass and June 1 for the Summer Reading Program. 
Why is the Cultural Pass valid only on certain days and times?
The venues want the best experience possible for each visitor.  Having specific days for Cultural Pass visitors allows the organizations to provide adequate staffing for the best possible user experience. 
Can a group use the Cultural Pass?
The Cultural Pass is intended for family use and is not valid for group visits.  This ensures the best experience for all Cultural Pass holders.
How do I replace a lost Cultural Pass?
If your pass is damaged or lost, visit any branch of the Louisville Free Public Library to get a new one.
How do I document my visits to the venues?
Please document the Cultural Pass visits online at Beanstack or by turning in a punched pass at any Louisville Free Public Library Branch.
