Lexington Road Safety Project

Louisville Metro is implementing a roadway design reconfiguration to improve safety on Lexington Road. This project is based on recommendations from the Lexington Road Corridor Transportation Plan that was created in 2015.
 
The first phase of this road reconfiguration, from Payne Street to Grinstead Dr, was completed in 2017, and the second phase, from Grinstead Dr to Stilz Ave, was completed in 2020.
 
While Louisville Metro and KYTC continue to monitor the results of this road reconfiguration, initial data shows improved safety for users of all modes of transportation.
