Mark your calendars! The annual Riverview Independence Festival will be held Saturday, June 29th at Riverview Park. The excitement will begin this year at 5:00 pm and will conclude with an fantastic fireworks display at 10:00 pm. This is the only event of its kind in our area, so bring the whole family to join in the fun!
Rising country music star Stephanie Quayle will headline the Festival Stage. Stephanie offers a fresh sound, and relatable storylines that is unmatched in today’s country music scene. Her brand-new single “If I Was a Cowboy” was released in February 2019 and she was named CMT Next Women of Country Class of 2019.
Returning this year is up-and-coming country musician Shane Dawson. This singer songwriter from Mount Washington took the Riverview Stage last year and brings his -energy pop country performances. Finally, local group Long Lost Country will be rounding out this year’s lineup featuring classic country and honky tonk hits.
With all of the activities and fun throughout the day, there is sure to be something for the entire family to enjoy! See how high you can climb on the 24 ft. climbing wall or try your hand at a musical instrument with WUOL's Classical Music Experience. Learn and experience the outdoors with the Jefferson Memorial Forest's Echo Mobile, or pose for a picture with the larger than life Squallis Puppeteers and Louisville League of Mascots. As always, the Riverview Splash Park will up and running as a way tobeat the summer heat!
A big thank you to our sponsor LG&E for allowing the Riverview Festival to use their facility for overflow parking! Now everyone will be able to enjoy the fun at Riverview Park, no matter how quickly the parking spots fill up at the park. This auxiliary parking is located at 7301 Distribution Dr. and there will be shuttles running every 15 minutes to and from Riverview Park until 10:45 (after the fireworks).
