District 12 Community Clean-Up - March 20th
Councilman Blackwell has heard from many constituents who are upset by the amount of litter, roadside trash, and illegal dumping in Southwest Louisville and throughout our community. We share your concerns and while there are many factors that have led us to this point, it is going to take a community-wide effort to make our streets clean and inviting again.
Metro Council and Mayor Fischer approved an additional $1 Million in funding for a Clean Collaborative effort whose work we have begun to see through more roadside cleanings and street sweepings. While Metro Louisville is responsible for cleaning and maintaining our roadways, the sad reality is that it is our own neighbors and community members who are littering and illegally dumping. Likewise, it will take our neighborhoods and community members to join in the effort for education, enforcement, and clean-ups to make our streets clean and green.
