Diplomacy Here Now Summit
The World Affairs Council of Kentucky and Southern Indiana is pleased to host the Diplomacy Begins Here Regional Summit and Learning Lab in Louisville, KY this fall in partnership with Global Ties U.S. and the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
Open to the general public, the Diplomacy Begins Here Regional Summit on November 15th will focus on "The Future of Global Education." The summit is a one-day exploration of breakout sessions, keynotes, and other interactive activities to advance the importance of global learning, citizenship, and exchange. The summit seeks to connect local community members, students, and educators with leaders in global education, diplomacy, and exchange.
Attendance to this summit include students and professionals from the public, private, and academic sectors in international education and exchange from across the U.S., Washington, D.C. and Kentucky and Southern Indiana region. A variety of international affairs agencies at the federal level will be represented at the summit, including Office for Youth Programming, Diplomatic Security, Passport Agency, and the Education and Cultural Affairs Office of the U.S. Department of State.
By putting global education at the center of the summit, this program provides a unique opportunity for participating stakeholders to impact conversations on what kind of education will be needed in a global society. Louisville area university and high school students are also invited to participate in the Diplomacy Begins Here Summit by attending a special youth track that includes an interactive diplomacy simulation and a discussion on careers in public diplomacy and foreign affairs.
In addition, members of the Global Ties Network can take part in an exclusive Learning Lab on November 14th with tailored workshops on International Visitor Leadership Program best practices, social media and website development workshops, and other relevant topics to nonprofit management.
