Louisville Parks and Recreation's 10 municipal golf courses will remain open for play. The department has taken several steps to ensure the safety of players and employees.
In the course clubhouses, food service will be limited to take out only. Tables and chairs will be removed to prevent social gathering, and patrons are discouraged from congregating inside them. Additionally, bathrooms and touch points will be cleaned multiple times daily, credit card terminals will be cleaned after every use, and clubhouse employees will use gloves during every transaction.
On the course, golf carts will be limited to a single rider per cart, with carts being thoroughly cleaned after each use. Golfers are encouraged to keep six feet away from each other during play, and flags are to be left in the holes at all times, based on guidance from the Department of Health and Wellness.

This beautiful 9-hole course is named for Louisvillian and PGA professional Bobby Nichols. It has rolling terrain with tree-lined fairways and large, bunkered greens. The course tests your proficiency with irons and rewards a straight tee shot (as Nichols Creek is in play on eight holes). It is located in Waverly Park, which has an archery range, fishing lake, and hiking/mountain biking trails for family activities. The Pro Shop has full concessions. No club rental is available.
Bobby Nichols is Louisville's first certified public FootGolf course. Footgolf is played as it sounds, as participants start each hole from a teeing area with a #5 soccer ball and kick to a green with a hole that's 21 inches in diameter. The game is played at a quicker pace than regular golf, with an hour for every 9 holes as the average playing time. T Bobby Nichols is a 9-hole course, so most of the regular holes on the course have two footgolf holes or more on them.
Golfers should wear flat sole shoes, tennis shoes or turf shoes. Soccer cleats are not allowed. Regular greens fees apply, and golf cart rentals are available. In addition, soccer balls can be rented for $2 per round at the course. The course will not open until after noon on weekends and holidays but will be available all hours during weekdays.
