May 10 2019 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue a construction permit to Zeon Chemicals L.P. (synthetic rubber manufacturer), 4100 Bells Lane, Louisville, 40211, in accordance with Regulation 2.03. The project is to install a new 1060 gallon heated monobutyl fumarate (MBF) tank. This tank is heated by a new 4-drum hot water bath with electric heat exchanger and water pump for melting MBF; and new mass flow meter for accurate charging. The 30-day public comment period starts on May 11, 2019, and ends on June 12, 2019. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

 Olmsted Parks Conservancy, Louisville Parks and Recreation, Mayor Greg Fischer, Councilman Brandon Coan, and Tyler Park Neighborhood Association will kick off construction for the $1.1 million restoration project in Tyler Park on Tuesday, May 7. The groundbreaking ceremony will be held on the east side of the bridge, in front of the historic tennis courts at 10am.
