The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue a FEDOOP operating permit to Southern Standard Cartons, Inc. (Lithography Printing Operation), 2415 Plantside Drive, in accordance with Regulation 2.17. The 30-day public comment period starts August 9, 2014 and ends on September 9, 2014. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Aug 9 2014 Proposed Title V Operating Permit and Construction Permits for Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc.

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue a construction permit to Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc. (resin manufacturing plant), 6200 Camp Ground Road, in accordance with Regulation 2.16. The 30-day public comment period starts August 10, 2014 and ends on September 9, 2014. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07. The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue one new construction permit and revise four construction permits for Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc. (resin manufacturing plant), 6200 Camp Ground Road, in accordance with Regulation 2.03. Permit 28262-13-C is being issued to construct and operate a recuperative thermal oxidizer in order to comply with District toxic regulations. Permit 221-99-C is being revised to change the oxidizer operating parameters. Permit 66-09-C is being revised to adjust the TAC control requirements. Permit 54-02-C is being revised to change the oxidizer operating parameters. Permit 37374-13-C is being revised to change the TAC emission limits. The 30-day public comment period starts August 10, 2014 and ends on September 9, 2014. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Healthcare revenue company to create 70 jobs

iHealth Solutions LLC is moving its headquarters and main operations from Virginia to downtown Louisville, solidifying the city?s global reputation as a powerhouse for companies involved in health and business services.

iHealth, which provides technology and other services for medical records, as well as medical billing and claims processing services, plans to create 70 new jobs and invest $1.7 million.

Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness is reminding people to never touch or handle bats. Bats are a major carrier of rabies, a fatal disease. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) rabid bats have been documented in all states of the continental United States. Bats should never be handled by untrained and unvaccinated persons or be kept as pets.

An Air Quality Alert has been called for the Louisville metropolitan area for Monday, August 4 and Tuesday, August 5 2014. The Air Quality Index (AQI) is expected to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range. The AQI is expected to reach 105 for ozone both days. Sensitive groups include children, older adults, active adults and anyone with heart and/or lung ailments.
