The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue a FEDOOP operating permit to IMI South, LLC – Selinda (Concrete Ready Mix Operation), 1440 Selinda Avenue in accordance with Regulation 2.17. The 30 day public comment period starts January 16, 2015 and ends on February 16, 2015.  A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Mayor Greg Fischer and The Coalition for the Homeless today unveiled an ambitious plan to eliminate veteran homelessness in Louisville by the end of this year. The initiative, titled Rx: Housing Veterans, will find permanent housing for the 360 known homeless veterans in our city and will rely on the resources of more than 15 local agencies.

Jan 12 2015 King Holiday to Alter Waste, Recycling Collection Schedules

There will be no garbage, recycling or yard waste collection on Monday, January 19 within the Urban Services District (former Louisville city limits) in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday.

Collection will resume Tuesday, January 20 and will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week. (Example: residents that have a Monday pickup will have collection on Tuesday.)

Mayor Greg Fischer today announced that Ed White, the founder of the River City Drum Corps, is the 2015 recipient of Louisville Metro’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Award.

Fischer will present the award 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18 during the “Keepers of the Dream” community arts celebration dedicated to Dr. King at the Kentucky Center’s Whitney Hall, 501 W. Main St. The event is free and open to the public.
