Jul 13 2020 Government Oversight Committee to vote on Order Investigating Mayor Fischer and first Subpoenas

The Government Oversight and Audit Committee (GOA) filed an Order to officially launch the Investigation into the action and inaction of the Fischer Administration regarding the death of Breonna Taylor, the death of David McAtee, and related protests in Louisville Metro. The Order will be considered during the next regular meeting of the Committee on Tuesday, July 14th at 5pm.

Jul 13 2020 Louisville Metro to conduct full-scale equity review of the Land Development Code

Louisville Metro Government (LMG) will undertake a complete review of the Land Development Code, a comprehensive set of rules for property development and processes, to identify and address land use regulations and policies that have inequitable impacts on Louisville residents. This will be a joint effort by Mayor Greg Fischer’s administration, Metro Council and the Planning Commission.

Jul 10 2020 Summer Blessings program announces new record of food bundles for distribution at parks community centers

The COVID-19 pandemic postponed the annual Summer Blessings food packaging event, which was scheduled to take place April 16 during Mayor Greg Fischer’s “Give A Day” week of service and is a partnership between Blessings in a Backpack, Texas Roadhouse, Louisville Parks and Recreation and the Louisville Parks Foundation.

The program was started in 2017 to ensure food insecure children were not negatively impacted during the summer, when school is out of session.

Jul 9 2020 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue a construction permit to Clariant Corporation (catalyst and catalyst carrier manufacturing plant), 1227 South 12th Street, in accordance with Regulation 2.03. This permit is being issued to construct new equipment and increase the stack height to allow for simultaneous operation of two heat treaters. The 30-day public comment period starts on July 11, 2020, and ends on August 10, 2020.

Louisville Parks and Recreation will reopen three outdoor pools, Algonquin, Fairdale and Sun Valley, beginning Tuesday, July 7.  Fairdale’s pool opens at 11 a.m. Tuesday, while opening day at Sun Valley is Wednesday. Algonquin opens for the season on Thursday, July 9. Each pool will be open two days a week from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
