Nov 22 2019 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue a construction permit to American Synthetic Rubber Company (synthetic rubber manufacturer), 4500 Camp Ground Road, Louisville, 40216, in accordance with Regulation 2.03. The project is to install three (3) new natural gas-fired boilers each rated at approximately 200 MMBtu/hr.  The 30-day public comment period starts on November 24, 2019, and ends on December 26, 2019. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue a construction permit to Clariant Corporation (catalysts and catalyst carrier manufacturing plant), 1227 South 12th Street, in accordance with Regulation 2.16. This permit is being issued to construct equipment and modify a process. The 30-day public comment period starts on November 23, 2019, and ends on December 26, 2019. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Nov 20 2019 New fishing docks installed in Waverly Park, Tom Wallace Lake in Jefferson Memorial Forest

Crews from Louisville Parks and Recreation and EZ Construction have installed two new accessible fishing docks at Waverly Park in South Louisville and in Jefferson Memorial Forest’s Tom Wallace Lake this week.

The two ADA accessible docks were fabricated by a Florida company, GatorDock.  The dock features a slip-resistant deck and both measure  about 200 square feet.

The event is free to the public and runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Parkhill Community Center, 1703 South 13th St.

Louisville Metro Government ended the 2019 fiscal year with $4 million more in operations than budgeted, a one-time overage that Mayor Greg Fischer proposes using to accelerate the timing of a new police recruit class, to boost the city’s unassigned fund balance (or Rainy Day Fund), and offset the city’s growing pension obligation through fiscal year 2023.
